Weekend Activity Review:

Attended Nickelback - Dark Horse Tour concert in Lexington, KY (Rupp Arena)

Awesome show and pyrotechnics and great music as well!
Opening Acts were Saving Abel and Seether

Pyrotechnics done by
JEM/FX Stage and Effect Engineering

http://www.jemfx.com/

Former Pantera Crew Chief is responsible for the Pyro effects and used to work for Pantera - Steve Joseph.

Opening act sounds was not too good…. It sounded muddy and you could not understand the words.

Rupp Arena - Hard to get in and out of…. Dangerous!

Slowest concession lines I have ever been in. It literally took 30 minutes or more to get refreshments!
I missed a good portion of Saving Abel because of the concession issues….

Michigan man pleads no contest for performing a sex act with a car wash vacuum
By Associated Press
8:36 PM EST, February 26, 2009
SAGINAW, Mich. (AP) — A man has pleaded no contest to indecent exposure after police said he was arrested for performing a sex act with a car wash vacuum. The Saginaw News reported 29-year-old Jason Leroy Savage entered the plea Wednesday in Saginaw County Circuit Court. A no-contest plea is not an admission of guilt but will be treated as one at sentencing on March 25.

Police said Savage was arrested after a resident called officers early on Oct. 16 to report suspicious activity at a car wash in Thomas Township, about 90 miles northwest of Detroit.

Defense attorney Philip Alexander Sturtz had no immediate comment Thursday.

Man accused of putting camera in women's bathroom
WESTON, Mass. – A 37-year-old man has been accused of secretly installing a hidden video camera in a women's bathroom at the Cambridge School of Weston. Homer Rogers, the assistant director of information technology at the private school, pleaded not guilty Friday in Waltham District Court to a charge of secret video surveillance of a partially nude person. He was released on personal recognizance.
According to a police report, school officials found a video camera and recorder hidden in the girl's bathroom. The report says a camera was placed in the insulation of a pipe aimed toward a toilet.

Chips, Surveillance & Privacy
http://www.coasttocoastam.com/shows/2009/02/25.html

During the second hour, private investigator Roger Tolces spoke about the latest news in surveillance. Relating to the fact that all computers are assembled in China nowadays, he presented his theory of the "Manchurian microchip." According to one of his sources, these machines are secretly equipped with a hidden microchip that can be activated at any time by China's military-intelligence service, for information gathering purposes.

He also talked about keystroke logging and spyware, and how the US government can install this on computers without entering your premises. There's a lot of government paranoia right now, fueled by things like the Patriot Act, he explained.

Ed holding it down!

I saw Nickleback last year at Verizon Wireless in Indy... Agreed, they put on a good show.

The funny thing is... You still watched the Brett Michaels show! ;-)

A little comment on the "Chicago Tea Party"... I think the biggest problem is that the Republicans haven't come up with a plan that realistically combats Obama's. I agree that Obama's stimulus package has some errors and problems, especially after the idiots in Congress got a hold of it (I really hope Nancy Pelosi can't sleep at night), but the Republican leaders have done nothing but complain about the spending. If you're going to bitch, come up with a solution first!

The other question I have is where are the complaints about Bush's bailout? Didn't he give a how ton of money to banks that didn't have to prove that the funding would actually do anything to free up the credit freeze? At least in the latest stimulus bill Obama is trying to put money toward things that need improving (infrastructure, health care, and transportation) so that as taxpayers we're at least getting something out of the rediculous amount of money we're being made to put up. There's also a program in place that the latest stimulus package has that will require anyone getting money to prove what they are going to do with it. Accountability is a huge issue for these programs, and I hope the Obama team can do it right where Bush's team failed. The verdict is most definately still out on Obama's plan... But at least he's got a plan in place that "could" work instead of just bitching about it.

I'm really getting tired of complaining about the plans that are being proposed by people who don't have a solution in mind... I agree Ed, take the politics out of it... Just make sure that there's accountibility whatever they do.

Speaking the car wash "fun time," saw this on Digg the other day and thought it was funny: http://tinyurl.com/arefn9

I have always depended on shortcut bars. I used to use the Office shortcut bar, but that has been phased out, and I always tended to clutter up my Quick Launch. I found this toolbar years ago and can't live without it now.

It's also good for those Mac lovers who are "stuck" using a PC.
